ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a vegetarian diet affects people with metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Researchers want to see if eating a healthy vegetarian diet can improve symptoms and overall health compared to a diet that includes both plant and animal foods. The trial will involve adults aged 18 to 60 who have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and have a body mass index (BMI) of 24 or higher. Participants should not have received any medication for related health issues recently and must be free of serious liver or other health conditions.
If you join the study, you will be randomly assigned to either a vegetarian diet or a diet that includes meat, and you will follow your assigned diet for 24 weeks. Throughout the trial, researchers will check your health and gather information through questionnaires and tests. This study aims to better understand how diet can impact liver health, which could lead to new ways to manage MAFLD. If you are interested in participating, it's important to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria and discuss it with your healthcare provider.
