ClinConnect Summary
The Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy Repository is a clinical trial aimed at understanding a condition called degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM), which affects the spinal cord in the neck. The researchers are creating a collection of information from patients with DCM and a comparison group of individuals with other spinal diseases that do not cause myelopathy. This will help scientists learn more about how DCM progresses and how patients might respond to different treatments. They also hope to develop a tool that can predict how well patients will do after surgery for DCM.
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with degenerative cervical myelopathy or has a similar spinal condition without myelopathy, you may be eligible to participate in this study. There are no strict exclusions beyond age limits and the required diagnoses. Participants can expect to contribute to important research that could improve future care for people with DCM. The trial is currently recruiting individuals aged between 65 and 74 years and aims to gather valuable insights that could benefit many patients in the future.
