ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different ways to manage pain during and after lumbar surgeries, which are operations on the lower back. The study compares three types of anesthesia: general anesthesia alone, general anesthesia combined with a special nerve block, and another type of nerve block. The goal is to see if these regional anesthesia methods can help reduce the need for strong pain medications, lower pain after surgery, and decrease the chances of ongoing back pain problems.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and scheduled for back surgery. However, those who cannot use the regional anesthesia methods, refuse to participate, have diabetes, have mental health issues, or are pregnant will not be eligible. Participants can expect to be part of a study that aims to improve pain management techniques, which could lead to better recovery experiences for future patients. If you're considering joining, it’s a great opportunity to contribute to important research in back surgery recovery.
