ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called "myHealthHub," which is designed to help older adults in the hospital feel less lonely, less stressed, and improve their overall quality of life during their stay. The researchers will compare myHealthHub, which offers various features for patient engagement, to a simpler version that only provides TV access. They want to see how these tools affect the mental well-being of older patients over a five-day hospital stay. The trial will involve 60 patients who are 60 years or older and are admitted to a non-surgical unit. Participants should be able to speak English or French and give their consent to join the study.
To participate, individuals must not have severe cognitive issues, such as delirium or moderate to severe dementia, and should not be experiencing active thoughts of self-harm. In addition to patients, the study will also include hospital staff who can provide feedback on their experiences using the myHealthHub service. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather valuable insights that could enhance patient care for older adults in hospitals.
