ClinConnect Summary
The VIRTUES Cardiac Care trial is studying a digital healthcare application designed to help patients with heart conditions, like heart attacks or arrhythmias, manage their health more effectively. Many patients, especially those living in rural areas of Canada, struggle to access traditional cardiac rehabilitation clinics. The VIRTUES app includes tools and educational resources focused on important aspects of heart health, such as managing blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels, as well as encouraging physical activity and healthy eating. The trial will involve around 200 patients testing seven key features of the app for about a month, providing feedback on how easy it is to use.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old, have a heart-related condition, and be able to speak and understand English. You should also have access to a smartphone or tablet and have used mobile technology recently. Participants will be asked to share their experiences with the app, which will help researchers improve it to better serve patients in the future. This trial is currently recruiting, and your involvement could make a real difference in how cardiac care is delivered.
