ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how the brain adapts and learns after a person experiences significant vision loss, particularly due to macular degeneration. By understanding these changes, researchers hope to develop new therapies that could help millions of people with low vision. The trial aims to compare different training methods to see which ones might lead to better visual outcomes for participants.

To be eligible for the study, participants need to be between 18 and 89 years old and have severely impaired vision in both eyes, with a diagnosis of macular degeneration. They should also have had this level of vision loss for at least two years and live within 50 miles of the study site. Participants can expect to engage in training that could help improve their visual abilities, and the study is currently looking for volunteers. It's important to note that individuals with certain medical conditions or implants, as well as those who are pregnant or have specific mental health concerns, may not be eligible to participate.
