ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can help people with serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. Many adults with these conditions also struggle with sleep problems, but they often don’t get the help they need. The study aims to see how well people accept OSA treatments and how these treatments might improve their thinking and memory skills.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 40 and 70 years old and either have a diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder, or be a control participant without a major psychiatric illness. You should also be at risk for or diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. If you join, you can expect to learn more about your sleep health and possibly receive treatment that could improve your overall well-being. Keep in mind that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, so it will be a little while before you can sign up.
