ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the effects of a specific diet before a major surgery called lower extremity vein bypass surgery. Researchers want to see how a short-term diet that limits calories and protein (known as a Protein-Calorie Restriction diet) compares to a regular diet over four days before surgery. The goal is to understand if this type of diet can help improve patient health and surgery outcomes. This study builds on previous research that showed the diet could be safe and feasible when done in a hospital setting.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be 18 years or older and scheduled for non-emergency lower extremity vein bypass surgery. They should also expect to survive at least one year after the surgery and be able to give their consent to join the study. Participants will follow the assigned diet before their surgery and help researchers learn more about how diet impacts recovery and health. It's important to know that the study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights for future research.
