ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the way pain is felt during a medical procedure involving the cervix, which is the opening to the uterus. Specifically, it compares two methods of placing a tool called a tenaculum, which is used to hold the cervix in place. One method is done quickly, while the other is done slowly. Researchers want to find out if using the slow method causes less pain than the fast method. Participants will rate their pain on a simple scale from 0 to 100, where 0 means no pain and 100 means the worst pain imaginable.
To take part in this study, women aged 18 to 49 who are planning to have an IUD inserted or an endometrial biopsy may be eligible. Participants should not have taken any pain relief or anti-anxiety medications in the 24 hours before the procedure. If you join the study, you’ll help researchers understand more about pain during these procedures, and you’ll have the chance to share your experience. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you're interested, it might be a good opportunity to consider.
