ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a virtual reality tool called VERT can help improve body image in patients who have recently undergone bariatric surgery. The study focuses on individuals who are between 18 and 30 months post-surgery and are feeling dissatisfied with how they see their bodies. By using VERT, researchers hope to see if it makes a positive difference in body image compared to the standard follow-up care that doesn’t specifically address this issue.
To participate in the trial, you must be between 65 and 74 years old, have had bariatric surgery, and currently feel unhappy with your body image based on a specific scoring system. It's important that you are part of the French social security system and have given your consent to be in the study. However, if you have certain health conditions, like severe nausea from using virtual reality headsets, or if you have had reconstructive surgery after bariatric surgery, you won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to engage with the VERT tool and share their experiences over the course of the study, helping researchers understand its impact on body image.
