Alzheimer's Disease Care Partners Loneliness Web Based Meaning

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on reducing feelings of loneliness among care partners of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias (AD/ADRD). Many care partners experience loneliness, and this study aims to help them find more meaning and purpose in their lives through a web-based program called RELOAD-C. This program includes short videos, virtual group meetings, and written materials based on a method called Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy, which has been shown to help people feel less lonely. The trial will involve different groups of care partners to see what approach works best in reducing loneliness.

To participate in this trial, you need to be the primary care partner of someone living at home with AD/ADRD and meet certain criteria, such as being at least 18 years old, speaking English, and feeling lonely based on a specific scale. Participants will be randomly assigned to different groups where they may receive usual care, watch the MCP videos, or join the videos along with group discussions. Throughout the study, participants will complete assessments to track changes in their feelings of loneliness. This research is significant because it seeks to improve the well-being of care partners, which can positively affect both their lives and the lives of the individuals they care for.
