ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new treatment option for women with locally advanced cervical cancer who are about to undergo pelvic radiotherapy. While this type of treatment can be effective against cancer, it often causes premature ovarian failure, which means the ovaries stop producing hormones that are important for a woman’s health and quality of life. The trial is exploring whether using a woman’s own ovarian tissue as a graft—by placing it in a different area of the body away from the radiation—can help maintain hormone production and improve overall well-being.

To qualify for this trial, participants need to be women aged 35 or younger, with a specific type of cervical cancer that hasn’t spread to the ovaries or other parts of the body. They should not have received previous cancer treatments. Those who join the trial will have their ovarian tissue transplanted and monitored to see if it can still function properly and produce hormones. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a potential new approach to help women preserve their hormonal health while undergoing cancer treatment.
