ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating a condition called resistant hypertension, which is when a person's blood pressure remains high despite taking multiple medications. The study will look at how blood vessels in the skin respond to certain tests and whether changes in these responses can help identify risks for heart problems in patients with resistant hypertension compared to those with normal blood pressure or non-resistant hypertension. The goal is to find a new, non-invasive way to assess cardiovascular risk in these patients.

To participate in this study, individuals must be diagnosed with resistant hypertension, meaning their blood pressure is not controlled with at least three different types of blood pressure medications. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as individuals with certain other health conditions like cancer or severe metabolic diseases, will not be eligible to participate. Participants can expect to undergo tests that assess their microvascular function, which involves examining small blood vessels in the skin to better understand their condition.
