ClinConnect Summary
The Lower Silesia Cardiogenic Shock Initiative (LSCSI) is a clinical trial aimed at improving the care and outcomes for patients experiencing cardiogenic shock, a serious condition where the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. This trial involves a central hospital in Wroclaw and eleven other cardiology departments in the Lower Silesia region of Poland. The goal is to ensure that patients who meet specific criteria are quickly transferred to the main hospital for advanced treatments, such as mechanical support for the heart or even a heart transplant, when necessary.
To participate in this trial, patients must be between 18 and 60 years old and must show signs of cardiogenic shock for less than 24 hours. Unfortunately, those with previous severe brain injuries, permanent organ failure, or advanced stages of other chronic diseases cannot join. If eligible, participants will receive specialized care from a dedicated team available around the clock, ensuring they get the best possible treatment quickly. This initiative aims to create a streamlined system for treating cardiogenic shock, ultimately helping patients recover better and faster.
