ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to see if it can help improve movement and motor skills in people who have had a stroke. The focus is on a specific area of the brain known as the somatosensory cortex, which is important for sensing and controlling movement. The researchers hope that by using this non-invasive technique, they can enhance the ability of stroke survivors to learn and perform motor tasks more effectively.
To participate in this study, you must be between the ages of 65 and 75 and have experienced a stroke at least three months ago. Additionally, you should have a reasonable level of cognitive function, as determined by a simple mental exam. However, individuals with severe motor impairment in their arms, certain medical conditions, or a history of seizures may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive the rTMS treatment and take part in activities designed to improve your motor skills. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and being part of it could potentially help you or someone you know in their recovery journey after a stroke.
