ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how taking a break from exercise affects blood sugar control and blood vessel health in older adults who are usually active. Researchers want to find out how quickly a lack of exercise can impact these health measures and whether getting back to exercise for just three days can help restore them. They believe that when people stop being active, their blood sugar levels and the health of their blood vessels can become worse, which may lead to serious health issues like diabetes and heart disease.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 55 and 40 years old, in good health, and currently active for at least 90 minutes each week. You should not have any serious health conditions, recent significant weight changes, or be a smoker. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo tests that measure your blood sugar and blood vessel function during different phases of activity and inactivity. This research could provide important insights into how staying active affects health as we age.
