ClinConnect Summary
The COMPASS-NP trial is studying a new program designed to help home care workers who suffer from chronic pain. Chronic pain is defined as pain that lasts for more than three months and can greatly affect daily life and work. This program will provide support through a group setting, where participants will learn about managing pain, safety at work, and ways to improve their overall well-being. The goal is to help these workers reduce pain that interferes with their jobs and personal lives, making their work safer and more enjoyable.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, currently work as a home care worker, and have chronic pain that affects their ability to work. They should also be working at least four hours a week and have access to the internet for virtual meetings. Those who have previously participated in the original COMPASS program, had surgery in the last six months, or are pregnant cannot take part in this study. Participants can expect to engage in supportive group discussions and learn practical strategies to help manage their pain and improve their quality of life.
