ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on helping older men with localized prostate cancer who are currently on active surveillance, which means they are closely monitored without immediate treatment. The study aims to develop and test an educational tool that can help these men and their healthcare providers make informed decisions about whether to reduce the frequency of their monitoring tests, like biopsies or imaging. This is important because many men with prostate cancer may not need aggressive treatment, especially if their cancer isn’t progressing or their health changes.

To participate in the trial, men must be 65 years or older, have been diagnosed with localized prostate cancer, and have been on active surveillance for at least 12 months. Caregivers and clinicians who are involved in the care of these patients are also welcome to join the study. Participants can expect to provide feedback on the decision-making tool to ensure it meets their needs, which could ultimately lead to better care and support for men facing decisions about their prostate cancer management.
