The Born In Guangzhou Intervention Study is a clinical trial aimed at improving the health of mothers and their babies during pregnancy. The study will test a special program that includes changes to diet, physical activity, and lifestyle to see if these adjustments can lead to better outcomes for both mothers and their infants. If you are a pregnant woman who is less than 20 weeks along, planning to give birth at the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, and will be living in Guangzhou for at least three more years, you might be eligible to participate.
Participants in the study will receive support and guidance on how to make healthy changes during their pregnancy. However, some women may not be able to join if they have certain health conditions, are using specific medications, or have multiple pregnancies. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to help improve experiences and outcomes for mothers and their children during this important time.

Eligibility criteria
- Inclusion Criteria:
- • Pregnant women attending prenatal care at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center (GWCMC) \<20 weeks' gestation
- • Pregnant women plan to deliver at GWCMC
- • Pregnant women intend to reside in Guangzhou for at least 3 years
- Exclusion Criteria:
- • Multiple pregnancies
- • Existing medical conditions (uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension or thyroid disease; other serious cardiovascular diseases, respiratory or systematic disorders)
- • Use of drugs (aspirin, metformin, low molecular weight heparin)
- • Women with reading and/or writing difficulties
- • Women with serious mental disorders
- • Women with eating disorders
