ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how to better care for stroke patients who have had a tracheotomy, which is a surgical procedure that helps them breathe. The study aims to understand how often these patients get lung infections and to create a new care plan that can help reduce the severity of these infections. By doing this, the researchers hope to improve the overall health and recovery of stroke patients who are not in immediate danger but still need the tracheotomy.
To be part of this trial, participants should be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with a stroke and a lung infection, confirmed by imaging tests like MRI or CT scans. They should also be patients with a tracheotomy who no longer need a breathing machine. People with unstable vital signs, serious cancers, or other infections won’t be included in the study. If eligible, participants can expect to follow the new care plan and help researchers evaluate how well it works in managing lung infections in these patients.
