ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how certain biological factors, specifically telomeres and sperm DNA quality, affect male fertility and the development of embryos. Telomeres are protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that play a role in cell aging, while sperm DNA fragmentation refers to damage in the genetic material within sperm. The study aims to understand how these factors relate to age, sperm health, and the chances of successful pregnancy. By analyzing sperm samples, researchers will look for patterns that can help predict a man's fertility when he seeks help for infertility.
Men of any age who are visiting IVI Madrid for infertility concerns may be eligible to participate, as long as their sperm analysis shows a normal sperm count and movement. However, those who have had recent serious illnesses or have ongoing health conditions will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo tests that measure their telomere length and sperm DNA quality, contributing valuable information to the research on male fertility. This study aims to provide insights that could help doctors better understand and treat male infertility in the future.
