ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how guided virtual reality (VR) can help improve sleep quality and quantity for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Many patients in the ICU have trouble sleeping, and this study will compare the effects of a VR program, called SLEEP care, with a regular eyemask on sleep for critically ill adults. The trial will involve 120 participants who will be randomly assigned to either the SLEEP care group or the eyemask group.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 20 years old, awake, and able to communicate in Chinese or Mandarin. They must also be staying in the ICU for at least 72 hours. However, those with serious sleep disorders, cognitive issues, psychiatric problems, or other specific medical conditions will not be included. If you join the study, you can expect to participate in sessions using VR or wearing an eyemask, which may help improve your sleep during your ICU stay. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and researchers aim to find effective ways to enhance sleep for patients in critical care.
