ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective preanaesthesia assessment clinics (PAC) are in preparing patients for surgery. These clinics help ensure patients are in good health before their operations, which can reduce the chances of surgery being canceled and improve overall hospital efficiency. The trial aims to gather information from hospital records to see if these clinics truly make a difference, especially for patients undergoing surgery for colon disease.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for elective (planned) surgery on their intestines, either through open surgery or laparoscopic (minimally invasive) techniques. They should also have been assessed by anesthesia staff at a PAC after 2017 and be following a specific recovery protocol introduced in 2014. It's important to note that this trial is not looking for emergency patients. If you join the study, you can expect to have your medical information reviewed to see how the PAC process affected your surgery experience.
