ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how electroacupuncture, a treatment that uses electrical stimulation along with acupuncture needles, can help reduce pain and improve quality of life for people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This condition often causes pain and discomfort in the feet and legs for individuals with type 2 diabetes. The study is currently recruiting participants from specific medical centers in Mexico City and aims to understand how this therapy affects nerve function and pain levels.
To join the trial, participants must have type 2 diabetes and show signs of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, which means they have nerve damage related to their diabetes. Unfortunately, those with type 1 diabetes, certain autoimmune diseases, or other serious health conditions are not eligible. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive electroacupuncture treatments and be monitored for changes in your symptoms and nerve health. This study is an opportunity to explore a potential new way to manage pain from diabetic nerve damage.
