ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new approach to help people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by focusing on positive memories instead of just trauma memories. Researchers want to see if a technique called the Processing of Positive Memories Technique (PPMT) can reduce PTSD symptoms and improve overall well-being. In the study, 70 participants will be divided into two groups: one will practice PPMT, while the other will receive supportive counseling. The goal is to understand how well PPMT works compared to traditional counseling and if it helps people feel better by improving their mood and reducing stress.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between 18 and 65 years old and diagnosed with PTSD in the past month. They should also be able to understand and speak English. However, those who are currently experiencing severe mental health issues, like suicidal thoughts or psychosis, or who have recently changed their mental health treatment, are not eligible. Participants can expect to share their experiences with positive memories and provide feedback on the new technique, which will help researchers refine it for better results in the future.
