ClinConnect Summary
This is a small, early study (a pilot) to see if the Tulsa Life Chart (TLC)—a web-based tool that creates a visual timeline of a person’s life and mental health history—is usable and helpful in real-world mental health care. It’s an observational study, meaning researchers are watching and asking questions rather than giving a new medicine or therapy. About 130 people who are seeking mental health treatment and their healthcare professionals at Laureate Institute for Brain Research in Tulsa, Oklahoma are being invited to join. Participants are ages 15 to 65, must be able to use a computer or phone, and must speak English.
At the start, both patients and their clinicians will answer questions about the TLC. Then, during roughly 4 to 12 weeks of usual treatment, they’ll continue their care as normal and complete follow-up questions about how usable and useful the TLC was, plus related aspects like how long it took to complete and overall satisfaction. The goal is to see whether the TLC helps patients and clinicians understand the mental health journey and support conversations. Privacy is protected, and data won’t be shared in open databases; any shared data would be de-identified if needed. This study does not test a drug or device.
