ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a personalized exercise program, called prehabilitation, can help patients with deep soft tissue sarcomas recover better after surgery. Patients who have this type of cancer often face challenges after surgery, which can lead to difficulties in daily life, feelings of sadness, and a lower quality of life. By participating in this study, patients will do specific exercises while receiving standard treatments like radiotherapy, with the hope that this preparation will improve their recovery and overall surgical outcomes.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of localized deep soft tissue sarcoma, particularly in the lower extremities. They should be able to provide consent for themselves or have someone who can help. Unfortunately, patients with certain other types of soft tissue sarcomas, those with cancer that has spread, or those with both upper and lower limb involvement cannot participate. If eligible, participants can expect to engage in a tailored exercise program designed to strengthen their bodies before surgery, which may lead to a smoother recovery and better quality of life afterward.
