ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a specific diet called the Preoperative Very Low-Calorie Protein-Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF) diet on patients preparing for bariatric surgery, which is a type of surgery to help with obesity. Researchers believe that following this diet may help reduce the size of the liver and improve fat levels in the liver, making the surgery safer and more effective. Obesity is a growing problem worldwide, with many people seeking surgical options, and this study aims to explore how diet can play a role in improving surgical outcomes.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 18 or older, and they should have undergone bariatric surgery at the Hôpital Universitaire de Strasbourg (HUS) between 2010 and 2021. The study is open to both men and women, and individuals must agree to allow their previous medical data to be used for research. Those who do not wish for their data to be reused will be excluded. If you decide to participate, you can expect to contribute to valuable research that may help future patients undergoing similar procedures, while also helping to improve the understanding of dietary impacts on surgery.
