ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of binaural beat stimulation to help patients feel less anxious before surgery and to improve their recovery afterward. Binaural beats are a type of sound that can help calm the mind and may even support brain activity that protects against confusion or memory issues after anesthesia. The main goal of the study is to see if listening to these sounds can reduce anxiety before surgery, which is important because high levels of anxiety can lead to complications during recovery.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74, speak either German or Portuguese, and be scheduled for a minor or intermediate surgery. However, if you have serious health issues, a history of drug abuse, or certain cognitive problems, you won’t be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to listen to binaural beats as part of your pre-surgery routine and help researchers learn more about how this method might improve patient outcomes.
