ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how lying patients on their stomachs (a position called "prone positioning") can improve breathing in people suffering from a serious lung condition known as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The researchers want to see if this positioning helps make breathing more even across the lungs, which is important for better oxygen supply to the body. The study is currently looking for participants who are between 65 and 74 years old, are currently on a ventilator because of breathing failure, and have specific low oxygen levels in their blood.
If you or a loved one meet these criteria, you may be eligible to join the study. Participants can expect to receive careful monitoring and support during the trial, as well as the chance to potentially benefit from the new treatment being tested. It’s important to note that those over 18 years old, those with certain serious lung diseases, or those who are not expected to survive beyond 24 hours are not eligible. This trial aims to find out if changing the way patients are positioned can make a difference in their recovery from a challenging condition.
