ClinConnect Summary
The Rehab CARES In USA clinical trial is studying how effective a new therapy, using robotic assistance, can be for individuals who have had a stroke and experience weakness on one side of their body, a condition known as hemiplegia. This trial aims to evaluate patients in a community setting by having rehabilitation professionals assess their abilities before and after they participate in both standard therapy and therapy with the Rehab CARES robotic system, which helps with exercises in both individual and group settings.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be 55 years or older and at least three months post-stroke. They should have been diagnosed with a stroke and have some weakness on one side of their body, but still have some ability to move their arm. Participants should be able to communicate and understand instructions, and must not have severe cognitive issues or specific brain lesions. If eligible, participants can expect to receive personalized therapy that may help improve their strength and function, while contributing to important research in stroke rehabilitation.
