ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new program designed to help men who have sex with men (MSM) in Argentina who may be struggling with substance use and are at risk for HIV. The program uses a tablet-based tool to ask questions about drug and alcohol use, as well as sexual behaviors, while these men are waiting for their HIV test results. The goal is to identify those who may need support and provide them with a brief counseling session and referrals to treatment if necessary. The researchers want to see if this program is easy to use and if it helps participants reduce their substance use and risky behaviors.
To participate in this study, men must be at least 18 years old, have had sex with other men in the past six months, and be seeking an HIV test at the Nexo clinic in Buenos Aires. They also need to report using drugs at least once a month or show signs of moderate alcohol use. Participants can expect to engage in a brief intervention tailored to their needs, and their feedback will help improve the program for future use. This trial is important because it aims to connect MSM with the help they need, potentially reducing both substance abuse and the risk of HIV.
