ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how watching videos through virtual reality glasses can help reduce pain and fear in children aged 7 to 12 during suturing procedures in the emergency room. The aim is to see if this distraction method can make the experience less stressful for young patients, as many children feel a lot of fear and discomfort during such treatments. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it will take place from October 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.
To be eligible for the trial, children need to be between 7 and 12 years old and must be visiting the emergency room for suturing during the study period. They also need to be able to speak and understand Turkish and should not have any mental or developmental delays or a history of epilepsy. If chosen to participate, children will be asked to wear the virtual reality glasses while receiving care, and their pain and fear levels will be measured using simple scales. This trial aims to find a fun and helpful way to make medical procedures easier for kids.
