ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different scoring systems used to evaluate the severity of injuries in patients with multiple trauma, also known as polytrauma. The goal is to compare three specific trauma scoring systems: the Injury Severity Score (ISS), the Rapid Emergency Medicine Score (REMS), and the Kampala Trauma Score (KTS). These scoring systems help doctors quickly assess how serious a patient's injuries are and predict their chances of survival. By improving how we categorize and treat trauma patients, the hope is to enhance the overall quality of emergency care.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be 18 years or older and have experienced multiple traumatic injuries. The trial is open to all genders, but it will exclude those with serious, end-stage chronic diseases or limited injuries. Participants can expect to contribute to important research that may improve trauma care in the future, but they will also need to be aware that if they choose not to participate, they will not be included in the study. This trial is still in the planning stages and has not yet begun recruiting participants.
