ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of 3D printed myoelectric prosthetic devices for children who have upper limb deficiencies from birth. The goal is to see how these advanced prosthetics can improve the lives of children aged 7 to 17 who have specific types of limb differences, such as those affecting the upper arm or forearm. The study will last for 14 months and will involve regular check-ups to evaluate how well the prosthetics work and meet the needs of the children.
To participate, children must be between 7 and 17 years old and have a congenital upper limb deficiency, specifically types known as transhumeral or transradial. Unfortunately, children who are not fluent in English or who have certain shoulder or wrist conditions will not be eligible for this trial. Participants will receive the prosthetic devices along with training on how to use them, giving them a chance to improve their mobility and day-to-day activities with support from Limitless Solutions. This trial aims to provide valuable insights into the benefits of these innovative prosthetics for young individuals.
