ClinConnect Summary

The SINE clinical trial is investigating the connection between sinusitis, an infection of the sinuses, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a condition that affects vision. Researchers at the Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital have noticed that some patients with wet AMD experienced improvements in their eye condition after treating their sinusitis. The goal of this study is to see if treating sinusitis can help reduce the need for eye injections in patients with AMD.

To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have been receiving treatment for bilateral wet AMD for at least two years, with a history of needing a certain number of eye injections in the past year. If you meet these criteria and are willing to consent to the study, you may be eligible to join. Participants will receive evaluations related to their sinusitis and AMD, and the findings could help improve treatment options for others facing similar conditions. It's important to note that individuals with certain medical conditions or treatments, like severe myopia or current sinusitis treatment, will not be eligible for this study.
