ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called ocular ultrasound to measure the size of the optic nerve sheath, which is a protective covering around the optic nerve. The goal is to see how accurately this ultrasound can assess the optic nerve in healthy adults who come to the Emergency Department for other medical reasons. Participants will be those who are at least 18 years old, have a normal head or eye CT scan as part of their treatment, and agree to join the study.
If you decide to participate, you'll undergo an ultrasound to measure the optic nerve sheath, and this will happen alongside your regular medical care. It's important to note that individuals with certain conditions, such as eye diseases, abnormal CT scans, or those who are pregnant, will not be eligible. The study is currently looking for volunteers at Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Emergency Department, and participation is completely voluntary, meaning you can choose whether or not to take part.
