ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the factors that contribute to different types of incontinence, specifically faecal incontinence (the inability to control bowel movements) and double incontinence (the inability to control both bowel and urinary functions). The researchers want to better understand how conditions like neurological disorders, previous surgeries, and other health issues affect these types of incontinence. They will use a special test called high-resolution anorectal manometry to measure how well the muscles in the rectum are working. Participants will complete questionnaires to share their experiences and how incontinence affects their quality of life.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and report experiencing faecal incontinence. However, some people may not be eligible if they have certain health issues, like active infections or conditions that make the tests too painful. If you join the trial, you will undergo a non-invasive test to check your anal muscle function and fill out surveys about your symptoms and daily life. This research aims to create a better understanding of incontinence to help improve treatment options and enhance the quality of life for those affected.
