ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding better ways to support informal caregivers of people with dementia. Caregiving can be tough and often leads to feelings of stress and depression. To help with this, researchers in Singapore are developing a mobile app designed specifically for caregivers. The study will involve three main steps: first, they'll create a prototype of the app and gather feedback from caregivers; next, they'll test the app with 60 caregivers—half will use the app for one month, while the other half will wait and then use it; finally, they'll conduct interviews to understand how to improve the app based on user experiences. The goal is to see if using this app can help caregivers feel less stressed and more supported.
To join this study, participants need to be at least 21 years old, a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, and currently caring for someone with dementia. They should also feel a significant level of caregiving burden and be comfortable using mobile apps in English. Caregivers who are pregnant or have vision or hearing issues will not be eligible. Those who participate can expect to use the app for a month, learn more about dementia, and hopefully experience improvements in their mental well-being and caregiving experience. This research could lead to valuable tools to help caregivers manage the challenges they face.
