ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how social support affects our response to threats, particularly in people who have experienced psychological trauma or discrimination. Researchers will use eye tracking to see how people react to different situations that may make them feel anxious or on edge. They want to understand if having supportive relationships can help reduce these feelings of hypervigilance, which is when someone is overly alert or anxious about potential dangers.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 65, be in a stable romantic relationship for at least 6 months, and have normal vision or vision that can be corrected. However, if you have experienced a traumatic event in the last month or need specific types of vision correction, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to take part in activities that help researchers learn how social support interacts with your feelings and responses to stress. This trial has not started recruiting participants yet, so there will be more information available once it begins.
