ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a medication called atorvastatin on patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), a long-term condition that causes inflammation in the colon and rectum. The researchers believe that atorvastatin, which is commonly used to lower cholesterol, may also help reduce inflammation and improve symptoms in people with UC. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 18 and older, regardless of gender, who are not pregnant and can use effective contraception. However, individuals with severe UC, certain kidney or liver problems, colorectal cancer, or those taking specific medications like steroids will not be eligible to join.
If you decide to participate in this trial, you will be closely monitored by medical professionals who will check your health and how the treatment affects your UC. This is an important study that aims to find new ways to help manage ulcerative colitis, and your involvement could contribute to better treatments for others in the future.
