ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at the effects of head acupuncture when used alongside a procedure called mechanical thrombectomy for patients who have had an acute ischemic stroke, which is a type of stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel in the brain. The goal is to see if adding acupuncture helps improve recovery and safety compared to just the thrombectomy treatment alone.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have experienced a stroke that was treated with endovascular therapy within 24 hours of the stroke's onset. They should also have a certain level of stroke severity and brain imaging results that indicate they could benefit from the study. Participants will receive acupuncture in addition to their usual treatment and will be monitored for safety and effectiveness. It’s important to note that individuals with certain medical conditions, such as a brain tumor or severe mental illness, and those who are pregnant or currently involved in other clinical trials are not eligible to participate.
