ClinConnect Summary
The Intercorporal Bone Graft Measurement Study is looking at how well bone grafts work during lumbar fusion surgery, a procedure often done to treat conditions like spondylolisthesis, where one vertebra slips over another. This study aims to understand how these grafts change and adapt over time to create a solid connection between two vertebrae. Researchers are using special imaging techniques to measure the density of the bone grafts, which helps them assess how well they are healing and integrating with the surrounding bone.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 45 and 80 years old and have not found relief from non-surgical treatments in the last six months. The surgery should only involve one segment of the spine, specifically from the L1 vertebra down to the sacrum or ilium. People who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or those who do not wish to provide informed consent cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo surgery and have follow-up assessments to monitor how the bone graft is healing. This trial is currently recruiting participants who meet these criteria, and it aims to improve our understanding of spinal fusion and bone healing.
