ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective and safe a medication called atorvastatin is for patients with ulcerative colitis, a type of inflammatory bowel disease. Atorvastatin is traditionally used to lower cholesterol, but it may also have other helpful effects, like reducing inflammation and improving blood vessel function. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 18 and older, regardless of gender, who do not have certain serious health conditions, such as significant liver issues or colorectal cancer.
If you join this study, you will be monitored closely to see how atorvastatin affects your ulcerative colitis. It’s important to know that participants cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking certain medications, like strong steroids or immunosuppressants. Overall, this trial aims to explore a new way to help manage ulcerative colitis symptoms and improve patient health, and being part of it could contribute to important research in this area.
