ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how blood transfusions affect patients who have experienced major trauma, particularly focusing on those who are severely bleeding. The research aims to understand the characteristics and outcomes of trauma patients who receive blood transfusions early after their injuries, compared to those who do not receive transfusions in that critical time. The trial will also look at how prehospital blood transfusions (those given before reaching the hospital) and the use of certain medications and fluids can influence patient recovery.
If you or a loved one has been admitted to the trauma unit at the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden after a serious injury, you may be eligible to participate in this study. The main requirement is that you must be a trauma patient receiving care at this hospital, and those with specific types of injuries, like those from drowning or severe burns, will not be included. Participants can expect that their medical data will be collected to help researchers learn more about the best ways to treat patients who are severely bleeding. This research is important as it could lead to improved care and outcomes for trauma patients in the future.
