ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of therapy called Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) to see how well it helps teenagers and young adults who are dealing with major depression. Over four years, researchers will work with 60 participants aged 15 to 17.5 years old to understand how IPT affects their mood and relationships. They will look at different factors that might influence how well the therapy works, such as the severity of depression, anxiety, conflicts with parents, and experiences at school. Participants will also share their thoughts on the therapy through interviews after treatment.
To join the trial, participants must have major depressive disorder but should not have other serious mental health issues like psychosis or addiction. They also need to be able to read Swedish well enough to understand questionnaires. Those who take antidepressant medication will need to wait until it stabilizes before participating. Throughout the study, there will be close collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure that the therapy is adapted to the needs of the young people involved.
