ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how cannabis affects the cardiovascular system, which includes the heart and blood vessels. Researchers want to understand if regular cannabis use has any impact on blood vessel function and inflammation, which can be related to heart diseases. They will compare the results of participants who use cannabis regularly (at least 3-4 times a week for the past six months) with those who do not use cannabis at all. This information could help us learn more about the long-term effects of cannabis on heart health.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to be between 19 and 80 years old, regardless of gender or ethnicity. There will be two groups: one group of 50 volunteers who use cannabis and another group of 50 who do not. Participants should have no history of heart disease and must be willing to stop consuming certain foods before their appointments. Those who join the study can expect to undergo non-invasive tests to measure how well their blood vessels are working, along with providing blood samples to check for inflammation. This research aims to provide important insights into how cannabis might influence heart health over time.
