ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help people with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a condition that causes severe and often debilitating pain, particularly in the arms and legs. The study aims to see if combining a specific type of pain relief procedure called a brachial plexus block with physiotherapy can improve pain and function better than physiotherapy alone. The researchers believe that this combined approach might offer a more effective treatment for CRPS, which is challenging to manage with existing options.
To participate in the trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and meet specific criteria for CRPS affecting their upper limbs. However, those with certain allergies, infections, or other complicating conditions won’t be eligible. Participants will receive either the nerve block with physiotherapy or just physiotherapy and will be closely monitored throughout the study. This trial is still in the planning stages and has not started recruiting participants yet. It's an important step towards finding more effective treatments for those suffering from CRPS.
