ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at the outcomes for patients with serious liver conditions, specifically alcoholic hepatitis and acute liver failure. Researchers at Methodist Dallas Medical Center are reviewing medical records of patients who received a special treatment called MARS (Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System) between January 1, 2019, and December 15, 2020. The goal is to understand how well these patients do without needing a liver transplant and to see their overall survival rates and other important health outcomes.

To be part of this study, patients need to have been diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis or acute liver failure and must have undergone at least one treatment session with MARS or a similar dialysis method. The trial is open to all adults, regardless of gender. If eligible, participants can expect their medical information to be reviewed to help researchers gather insights on the effectiveness of MARS in treating their conditions. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to provide valuable information that could improve care for patients with liver failure in the future.
