ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how often heart failure occurs in patients with liver cirrhosis who undergo a procedure called transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). TIPS is a treatment that helps improve blood flow in the liver. The study aims to find out who is more likely to develop heart failure after this procedure and to learn about any factors that could affect heart function in these patients.
To participate in the trial, individuals must have cirrhosis and successfully have a TIPS procedure done. They also need to agree to join the study. However, people with certain conditions, such as severe heart or lung problems, or those who have had a TIPS before, are not eligible. Participants in the trial can expect to be monitored closely for signs of heart failure and may undergo various tests to help researchers gather important information. This study is currently looking for volunteers and hopes to shed light on the heart health of patients with cirrhosis after undergoing TIPS.
